The mantra for my textile work...

the use of simple materials with past lives, along with simple stitches to give new life to something which may otherwise have been discarded

It is all about the stitch, its simplicity and its meditative effect that allows it to become expressive. Within this process of meditation, the original intent may change and expand beyond that which was intended at the start of the project; but its fair to say that this 'women's work' has come of age and is now accepted as an art form, perhaps because of its simplicity... It is slow art.
