My paintings are about the landscape in which I love, live and work.
Southern Bruny Island is a wild place, the weather, the shear cliff islands, and the unknown.
This is an ancient place, grand and vast.
I am lured by a landscape that is endless, and transient. A world filled with intricate patterns of light and dark. I see the ephemeral aspects of nature, the open sea, the sky, and a distant horizon. A land only barely there before being engulfed in cloud emphasises the ever-changing patterns of weather.
I am fascinated by distant places, shrouded in mystery they open my imagination. Devoid of distracting images I see the world reduced to its elemental forces. I sense the fragility of our presence and the need to connect with the vastness of the world.
