Marianne lives and works in Tasmania. She paints in acrylics on canvas and is interested in working with various mediums to create a range of surface textures. Her Dutch roots, her interest in colour and patterning coupled with an eclectic store of images from nature, architecture, textiles and ceramics, inspire her work.

Marianne has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting with a Post Graduate Diploma in Sculpture and a Diploma in Education. She has worked as Artist in Residence and taught in primary and secondary schools. A back ground in illustration won her a national prize in 1980 for her story and pictures of 'Amy's Place'.

Marianne has curated and exhibited in group and solo exhibitions in Tasmania. Her work is held in private collections in Australia and overseas.
