It was by chance in early 1991 that I was first introduced to basketry and to Sally King. I am not sure whether it was her inspiration or the appeal of the natural materials involved but I became quite quickly hooked with an addiction to basketry.

I have felt the need to 'construct' since childhood. After attending a very stimulating workshop with Nalda Searles in 1995 my work became what I think of as 'sculptural basketry'. I get my inspiration from this amazing world we live in, particularly the bush. I do not know where either basketry or sculpture will take me in the future but I am sure that my head and heart will tell my hands. I know I will always feel the need to create.
